Laser depilation is mainly based on the principle of selective photothermolysis, which is nothing more than the effect of depositing high amount of energy we need to heat the hair follicle to eliminate,leaving surrounding structures intact.
 
Actually there is a transformation of energy in this process and converted into thermal energy to reach the follicle. It is said that the hair follicle will be destroyed if we are capable of heating to 70 °C for more than one millisecond. The laser device emits a pure, single color light, which is absorbed more precisely by a specific color,always in a straight line with a fixed wavelength for each of them.
For example: for the alexandrite laser: 755nm, and the diode laser: 810nm.
It is much more accurate than pulsed light but need to have more than one type of laser because the accuracy of the lasers is also its own limitation. Every laser is worth only what counts.
 
IPL(or Intensed Pulsed Light) emits a mixed, traveling at multiple wavelengths from 1200nm up to 590nm. In addition, the behavior of light is like a bulb, moving in all directions.The team controls the pass only some certain types of light, depending on the filter placed at the output of the light.
